SIR is a group of retired men from varied backgrounds, occupations, and beliefs. The Chaplain, at the beginning of each meeting, opens with words that remind us that our differences are set aside as members of SIR. The invocation asks our Maker to bless our meal and especially show us the brotherhood that is in each of us.
