Minutes of the Executive Committee Meeting
October 11, 2007
I. Call to Order
Big Sir Jim Stedman called the meeting to order at 10:03 AM.
II. Members in Attendance
Officers and Directors: Baily, Hallet, Matthews, O’Sullivan, Snyder, Somerville, Stedman, Thomson, Tutton and Zamolo. Committee Chairmen: Bill Root, Don Nunn, Bob Yolland, Bob Spellman, Rich Hanford. Garth Cummings. Chuck Bobinecz, Jim Jackson, and Dave Obera.
III. Secretary’s Report
The minutes of the September 11, 2007 BEC meeting were accepted.
IV. Treasurer’s Report
Bill Snyder presented the report for September. At month end our bank balance was $ 6041.52.The report was accepted.
V. Little Sir’s Report
Our speaker today will be Officer Bob Roberts with the Contra Costa Sheriff’s K9 Corps. He will bring his partner Freddy. The November speaker will be Gary Villalba a Contra Costa Veterans Service Officer. He will speak on the facilities and other things available to assist veterans.
VI. Big Sir’s Report
We have not had official news of the replacement for Blake’s.
Bob Yolland, Honorees Chairman, announced that Frank Mandic had his 90 th Birthday yesterday. He is now a Senior Sir and will receive an award at the luncheon. Frank is a founding member with badge # 86.
Jim Jackson, Membership chairman, presented the report that after today’s luncheon we will have a membership of 251 including HLM’s. He requested approval of six new members: Richard Woodman, Michael Siebert, Robert Johnson, John Harrington, Orren Rupert and Corrie Oranje. Motion Jeff Baily, second Stu Somerville, motion passed.
Bill Root, Attendance/Luncheon Chairman, presented the lunch count for October as 217 expected with a guarantee to Blake’s of 205. Bill reported that Glen Renk will take over this responsibility for 2008.
Jim stressed that every member should bring guests and be on the lookout for new members.

IX. Committee Reports
Harry Tutton reported upon recent activities of Song Sirs. He requested a donation of $ 100.00 to Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church to compensate for the use of their facilities for rehearsal and practice. MSP
Don Nunn reported attendance for the recent Dinner Dance at 138 members and guests. A surplus of about $ 100.00 remained after covering all costs.
